Like the brisket sandwich topped with Russian dressing pictured above, this deli has been serving up soups, sandwiches, salads, knishes, smoked fish and meats since 1953. Because they’re in the Bronx and not Manhattan or Brooklyn, they don’t get the same hours-long touristy lines that visit the likes of Katz’s and Frankel’s. In fact, when it first opened, it was one of over 100 Jewish delis in the Bronx—and today, it’s the last one standing in the borough.
